Crew
Log the days or hours each person works, then record each cash payment. What they're owed is worked out for you, and payments clear their oldest work first.

Money in is counted when a check or payment arrives. Money out is counted when you pay an expense or pay the crew. Every table exports to CSV for Karen.

Subcontractors
Before you pay a sub, make sure they have a current WA contractor registration, a certificate of insurance, and a W-9 on file. In Washington, hiring an unregistered or uninsured contractor can make you responsible for their injuries and their L&I premiums.

Counts cash, check, Zelle, and bank transfers to crew and subcontractors. Card payments are left out because the card company reports them on a 1099-K. Subs set up as S or C corporations are exempt. Washington has no state income tax, so there's no state 1099. Upload each W-9 to the payee's profile; the portal never stores SSNs or EINs as text.
Owner reimbursements
When an owner pays a Northstar expense or pays the crew out of their own pocket, the company owes it back. Record each payback here. Partial paybacks are fine; they clear the oldest expenses first.

Settings
People who already have an account get an invitation they accept when they sign in.
Owner and Admin run everything, including payments and the team. Office handles customers, dispatch, invoices, and expenses. Field crew only sees the jobs assigned to them, with no prices, and adds photos, notes, and signatures. Viewer can look at everything but change nothing.
